An analysis “through a gender lens” provides a better understanding of law, in its twofold dimension – as a tool of patriarchal domination and as a leverage of emancipation for women.
Drawing on law, philosophy, sociology and history, this approach focuses on the origins, manifestations and effects of gendered aspects of law. It supports therefore the achievement of effective and substantial equality between all people.
